Pricing questions
Do I need a credit card to try Oxide APIs?
No. The Basic tier of every API is free and requires only a RapidAPI account.
What happens if I exceed my plan?
You're charged a per-1,000-request overage rate (between $0.02 and $0.20 depending on tier and API). The lower your plan, the higher the overage rate — typically it pays off to upgrade before you blow past the limit by an order of magnitude.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. RapidAPI lets you upgrade or downgrade with prorated billing.
Do you offer enterprise / custom plans?
For volumes above 5M requests/month or custom SLAs, contact us via the RapidAPI listing — we'll set up direct billing.
How does this compare to AWS Lambda?
Lambda is a runtime; Oxide is a finished API. Once you add Lambda + API Gateway + KMS + CloudWatch + the engineering time to keep all of it working, you'll usually pay 3–10× our list price for the same workload — and the cold-start latency floor on Lambda is roughly 100× ours.
